JonesDBR worked with PBK Architects on the new Texas State Technical Fort Bend Brazos Center in Fort Bend County. Texas State Technical College (TSTC) provides the technical instruction and WCJC provides academic instruction. With tremendous support from the local community leaders to help fill the skills gaps and train local workers in the Greater Houston area, TSTC offers programs in Fort Bend County including Industrial Systems Technology, Cyber Security and Welding Technology.

JonesDBR provided MEPT designs services for the new 57,000 square foot state-of-the-art Brazos Center facility including CCTV, data cabling, intrusion detection, access control and MDF/IDF room layout and design.

Academic programs to be housed in the Brazos Center will include Instrumentation, Robotics, Electrical Power and Control, Construction Technologies, and Occupational Safety and Environmental Compliance. In addition, there will be a number of administrative functions housed in the new building, including Student Services, Student Development, Counseling and Testing, Administrative and Staff/Faculty offices, a Learning Resource Center, and possibly a student lounge and bookstore with a small dining/vending area.

Designed with a street concept, the main streets/corridors are lit with natural light from clerestories and light wells above bisecting the large open ceiling lobby with stair and elevator. Many places along the streets are places to site and study, relax or collaborate. The exterior is concrete tilt, various metal panel systems and curtainwall glazing to match the campus look. An onsite pond and pedestrian bridge tie in the main boulevard that bisects the campus and connects the future third building for the new campus.
