JonesDBR worked with PBK Architects on the new Lamar State College-Orange, multipurpose space. JonesDBR provided MEP Engineering and Technology design services for the new 32,000 sf Multipurpose Education Building.

The new Multipurpose Building includes classrooms and administrative suites intended for classes, events and public engagement with the college and incorporates the latest instructional technology. Along with the technologically advanced classrooms, the Cypress Center also boasts a large conference room that will be available for use by the community. The conference center in the Cypress Center can accommodate up to 700 people for lecture events or 400 people for a banquet-type event. The large room can be subdivided into three smaller meeting rooms and includes modern technology. It is intended to actively advance Lamar State College-Orange College’s ability to host local events such as galas, lectures, large classes, career fairs or trade shows, graduations, and concerts. Additionally, the facility hopes to provide an emergency relief station for the region and host community events. The new two-story building will provide a launching ground for VIP events and provide additional instructional spaces for the growing student body.
